When Buddhism spread to north from the originating place ( which is today Nepal ). It have evolved to become a east mid-west religion culture.

Due to the strategic location of Tibet, which is considered at the far west of Middle Kingdom, the Buddhism become the most infleuncial in the culture.

Yet Tibetian buddhism is still have great mix of the ancestors' worship of their tradition.

Hi CharlieBrown,

Thanks for putting my pics at your site.

This is the Potala Palace in Lhasa, Tibet.

Potala Palace is located on the Red Hill of Lhasa, Tibet. Destroyed by lightning and war, Potala Palace had been rebuilt by the Fifth Dalai Lama in 1645. Since then, Potala Palace has become the seat of Dalai Lamas and also the political center of Tibet. Unfortunately, after the 'reunification' by the communist Chinese, it is now just tourist spot.

I have the opportunity to visit this sacred place, beside Angkor Wat (Cambodia), Borobudur Temple(Indonesia) and plan to be visiting the Mahabodhi Mahavihara Temple in Buddhagaya (India) next year.

Yes, like Wayne, I am a buddhist since birth.

Peace, Love and Compassion.
